Overview

The customer-facing SNOWsat data dashboard interface transformed complex and cumbersome SNOWsat data into a user-friendly dashboard featuring useful metrics and comparisons. Developed at the request of Clifford Mann at Mammoth, who sought an easier way to understand spreadsheet data, this intuitive interface provided resorts with a comprehensive understanding of complex nightly data, as well as weekly, monthly, and yearly reports. It offered benchmarks, scores, and comparisons to facilitate data analysis. This innovative solution automated reports for multiple top resorts in North America, streamlining operations and enhancing decision-making processes.

Program Details

This innovative project provided a comprehensive visually appealing and easy to understand dashboard overview of grooming operations, including staff, equipment and surface information, on a nightly, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. The Power BI-based system was build with a custom algorithm that ensured automated daily updates, enabling management to identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, and training opportunities effortlessly.

Additionally, this program enabled benchmarking with industry averages, empowering resorts to assess their performance against peers and identify areas for improvement. I also implemented benchmarking based on to track progress and make continuous improvements.

I analyzed the existing raw data to extract key insights, turning them into more relevant and useful metrics. The automated Power BI interface, updated daily, was accessible via password-protected microsites for real-time insights. I also provided ongoing support to resorts, addressing queries and delving into data nuances to drive continuous improvements.

Daily Report (Operator and Cats)

The Operator and Labor Report consists of six pages of detailed information, providing a comprehensive understanding of each cat and operator's performance.

Page 1: Overview

The first page focuses on averages of the most important information at a glance. Each cat and/or operator can be selected using the option at the bottom, allowing for comparison against the nightly resort average. This report includes the operator score, summarizing four key indicators of nightly performance. It also provides the number of cats versus the total operational cats the resort owns, gallons per acre groomed, total acreage groomed compared to potential acreage, and department capacity compared to the potential if all operational cats worked a full shift.

Page 2: Score

The second page details the scoring for each operator, showing the recent shift compared to the previous shift. It breaks down the four main factors contributing to the score and how each operator performed. This helps identify top and bottom performers for training opportunities or recognition. You can select a specific operator for more detailed information.

Page 3: Fuel Details

The third page focuses on fuel consumption and related factors. It starts with overall averages, including total fuel consumption, gallons per acre groomed, gallons per acre groomed, and average RPM.
